About Sontag Legal Solutions

Mark Sontag is the Principal at Sontag Legal Solutions and brings over 23 years of experience in the Victorian Public Service. He holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from Victoria University, a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Australian National University, and Graduate Certificates in Public Safety (Investigations and Prosecutions). Mark is qualified to practice in all jurisdictions across Victoria, including the High Court of Australia, and represents clients in Federal and Family Courts nationwide.

Throughout his career, Mark has held key roles in investigations, legal compliance, and prosecutions, regularly appearing in Victoria’s Magistrates’, County, and Supreme Courts. His legal focus has been on prosecuting criminal cases, particularly those involving family violence, and protecting women and children from sexual abuse. This work has equipped him with not only the legal expertise to advocate effectively but also the empathy and resilience needed to navigate these sensitive matters.

Sontag Legal Solutions was founded from Mark’s passion for helping people achieve their life goals, whether it’s purchasing a first home, securing an investment property, starting a business, or ensuring peace of mind with a Will or Power of Attorney. Mark is dedicated to offering sound legal advice on managing risk and understanding the legal implications involved.

However, life can sometimes take unexpected turns. Having personally experienced the emotional challenges of Family Law, Mark is committed to offering compassionate guidance through such difficult times, which inspired him to establish Sontag Legal Solutions.

Outside the office, Mark enjoys spending time with his young family and stays active in the local sporting community, participating in road cycling, running, swimming, and even competing as an age-group triathlete.
